Also, I have been told that on one-envelope or seal-n-send invites, one should write "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and family" if the couple has children. Would you still put this if the couple has only one child, or would it be more appropriate to put "Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and Hayley"?
